The study investigates the impact of student-led initiatives and movements on environmental policies and practices within public tertiary institutions in Anambra State. With the increasing concern for environmental sustainability, it is crucial to understand the role of students in promoting eco-friendly practices and policies. The state of Anambra, being one of the most rapidly developing states in Nigeria, has faced challenges in maintaining ecological balance. Therefore, this study aims to explore the influence of student-led initiatives and movements on shaping environmental policies and practices within public tertiary institutions in the state. The study employed a qualitative research approach, using in-depth interviews and focus group discussions with students, faculty members, and administrators from various public tertiary institutions in Anambra State. The data collected will be analyzed using thematic analysis to identify common themes and patterns related to the influence of student-led initiatives and movements on environmental policies and practices. The findings of this study will contribute to the existing literature on environmental sustainability and student activism. It will also provide insights into the current state of environmental policies and practices within public tertiary institutions in Anambra State. The results of this study can help policymakers and institutions in developing effective strategies and interventions to promote environmentally-friendly practices and policies. this study aims to shed light on the crucial role of students in shaping environmental sustainability through their initiatives and movements. It will provide valuable insights for policymakers, institutions, and future research on the topic. Overall, this study will contribute to creating a more sustainable future for Anambra State and the rest of Nigeria.
